Wildhorse: NW Side of San Antonio
Located on the NW side of San Antonio just outside loop 1604, Wildhorse is a popular neighborhood because it is close to many amenities, has easy highway access, and features many beautiful homes. This neighborhood is characterized by single family homes, and was established in the early 2000s and construction was completed around 2013. Lot sizes tend to be under 1/2 an acre. The neighborhood features various parks and playgrounds within walking distance, in addition to a private clubhouse for residents. The neighborhood features NISD elementary and middle schools on site.
A Lackland AFB Area Neighborhood
For those commuting to Lackland AFB, the drive is roughly 20-25 minutes from Alamo Ranch, and can be up to 50 minutes during rush hour. There is a lot of construction going on in the area to help improve traffic congestion, and should make commuting easier in the future.
The neighborhood is close to the bustling Alamo Ranch shopping center with lots of shops and restaurants. As of recently, many more moderate-upscale shops and restaurants have been under construction in the area, too, reflecting the area's appreciation. Wildhorse is also close to Sea World, Culebra Creek Park, OP Schnabel Park, Government Canyon, and Leon Creek trail (great for bike riding). It is about 15 minutes from La Cantera and The Rim shopping areas, UTSA, and Six Flags.
